
Location
Few mammals on this earth are as loyal to there family as the wolf. Wolves live most of their lives in a pack. Wolves live in various locations around the world. They used to populate a good portion of the United States, but no longer due to over hunting and killing in the 1800’s to today. Wolves today are located in Alaska, Colorado, Wyoming, Virginia, Montana and Canada. There are few wolves that live in the wild, most of the packs are in some sort of reservation and safe sanctuary from poachers.
In Europe wolves are mostly protected and can be found in countries as Poland, Germany, Swizerland, Romania, Italy, Spain, Greece, and Russia.
There are approximatly between 130 to 150 wolves at the Sacandinavian peninsula and most of the mare living in the mid parts of Sweden and Norway. They are protected with some restrictions in these countris and there are wolves that has been shot legally, but the illegal hunt is greater and the scientists estimate that about 25 wolves per year are killed illegaly.
