Role Play Guide - Introduction
A roleplaying game (RPG) is a type of game in which players assume the roles of characters and collaboratively create stories. Gameplay progresses according to a predetermined system of rules and guidelines, within which players may improvise freely. Players' choices shape the direction and outcome of roleplaying games. A roleplaying game rarely has winners or losers. This makes roleplaying games fundamentally different from board games, card games, sports and most other types of games. Like novels or films, roleplaying games appeal because they engage the imagination. Roleplaying games are typically more collaborative and social than competitive. A typical roleplaying game unites its participants into a single team, known as a \\"party\\", that plays as a group. Most roleplaying games are conducted like radio drama: only the spoken component is acted, and players step out of character to describe action and discuss game mechanics. The genre of roleplaying games in which players do perform their characters' physical actions is known as live-action roleplaying games (LARP). Computer games incorporating settings and game mechanics found in roleplaying games are referred to as computer roleplaying games, or CRPGs. Due to the popularity of CRPGs, the terms \\"roleplaying game\\" and \\"RPG\\" have both to some degree been co-opted by the computer gaming industry; as a result, traditional non-digital pastimes of this sort are increasingly being referred to as \\"pen and paper\\" or \\"tabletop\\" roleplaying games, though neither pen and paper nor a table are strictly necessary.RPG Dictionary

Helpful Tips

Note that this was also meant to be humerous as well as informative, though i doubt one of those will be successful.
Rule 1: Never speak in leet.
Bad wolf: 1337 h4x0rs 4 l1f3!
good wolf: Oh my god, i can't read that!
Leet is an antiquated and outmoded communication method which requires too much brainpower and effort to translate effectively into conversation. so please, save it for those rare moments when you need to stun the crowd.
Rule 2: This is not a pickup channel.zz
Bad wolf: Hey baby, ASL? wanna cyber?
Good wolf: .....
This channel is not a cyber channel, and as such these type of advances are very rarely accepted from total strangers. Also be aware that many of our members are under the age of 18, and such advances on them can be in violation of both server and federal laws and you may risk punishment from your actions
Rule 3: We can't say hello if you never come in
2
Bad Wolf: *silence, rp stalls, nobody talks*
We want to meet you! all you have to do is pop in and more than likely *someone* will greet you and interact with you. given, it may only be apache giving you a cookie, but still.
Rule 4: Wolves only please.
Bad thing: I'm a crow! i'm a hunter coming to shoot you! i'm a monkey!
Good wolves.... : tasty.
Since we are in the business of pack interaction, canines are mostly the limits of what character types we have available. sorry, but this is to keep anyone from gaining an unfair advantage.
Rule 5: Have fun!
All wolves: Yay!
Yes, this may seem wierd, but try and have some fun with your interaction. play a game of "pass the pinecone", howl at the moon, even *gasp* swimming in the pond! we want to see you enjoy yourself and we'll probably join in if we see you are.
Courting Advice
Written by: LockeWlf
this is just a little post from me about some of the things i've noticed from courting wolves. if you think i'm wrong, feel free and post your own advice
5 things to remember-
1. Don't jump at the first wink you get.
Your new to the pack! great! you've barely have a week under your belt and suddenly you get a wink and a smile from the alpha and know in your heart she wants your hot body.
Easy there tiger.
Just because a wolf is nice to you, does not mean they would make a suitable mate for you. Take some time and get to know the wolf first before you make your attempts at thier heart. who knows, you might find a good friend instead of a lover.
2. No Means No.
It sounds so simple, but in the culture of america we tend to have the problem of not knowing when to quit. If someone doesn't want to be your mate, so be it. there are plenty of wolves in the sea for you Tiger, and you'll find one soon enough.
3. Time is the simplest gift.
I know it is wierd, but the more time you spend with someone, the better you get to know them. If you are seriously considering a potential mate try and spend as much time with them as possible. Who knows, your prince/ess might turn out to be an orc in disguise!
4. Gifts!
Everyone loves gifts! but getting a gift that suits the wolf is as important as having a gift itself. Get to know the likes and dislikes of your potential mate so you don't bring them a batch of delicious berries that they are allergic to.
5. Trust and Sincerity
The most important lesson for any eager wolf to remember is the important of Trust and Sincerity in a relationship. Taking a mate isn't a minor event in a wolf's life, as such it takes an incredible amount of trust in order to take the plunge. Sincerity is one of the simplest method to gain trust, as telling the truth is always appreciated, even if it is a bit hurtful at times.
Well, hope you enjoyed this little primer, I'll probably delete it later once my sleep deprived brain realizes just how horrid it turned out.
